2024 ALSA CONFERENCE

ALSA Conference is an annual event that is organized by ALSA International that serves as a platform for its members of law students, legal professionals and scholars across Asia to exchange ideas, enhance knowledge and engage in meaningful discussions on socio-legal issues. For the first time ever, the conference will be hosted in Brunei Darussalam from the 25th of January 2024 until 29th of January 2024.

THEME: EMBRACING DIVERSITY OF ASIA LAW, CULTURE & IDENTITY

In 2024,  the event will be focusing on the theme “Embracing Diversity of Asia: Law, Culture, and Identity”. It will comprise both academic and non-academic sessions. The academic sessions will explore topics such as “Rights and Freedoms under Shariah Law” and “How Culture Shapes Our Laws”, among others, to provide insights into its distinctive dual legal system. To align with this theme, the non-academic sessions will involve cultural visits that shed light on Brunei’s unique identity and rich historical heritage.
