Testimonials by previous TAP participants
Nurul Izzati Binti Barudin Firm: LZ Hussain & Co. “It was a great honour for me to land an internship opportunity with one of the prestigious law firms in Brunei. I learned so much within a month from civil procedure to opinion drafting and other administrative matters which I found to be the most important in a legal setting. All these gave me sufficient insight into how lawyers dealt with clients, how a case is being scheduled for trial, and all the behind-the-scenes work. If you wish to get an idea of what lawyers and paralegals do I highly recommend grabbing this chance and get a first-hand experience in the legal world.”
Ahmad Zahid Borhan Firm: HLR Law “During my internship, I had the chance to work closely with a lawyer and even the president of the law society! It was an amazing experience where I learned so much about legal procedures and debt recovery work. One of the tasks I was responsible for was drafting letter of demands. It was really interesting and gave me a deeper understanding of how to effectively communicate legal matters. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in such a dynamic environment!”
Bazilah Besar Firm: Yusof Halim & Partners “TAP was my first experience interning with a law firm and it definitely helped me; especially with my Industrial Training (LI), as I was already able to familiarise myself with the practical side of studying law from my TAP. Though the programme had only lasted 5 weeks, the experience and knowledge I’d accumulated from it seemed vast and adequate.”
Aisyah Yusop Firm: HLR Law “Through TAP, I had the opportunity to be part of HLR Law where they had taught me how to apply the theoretical knowledge learned in uni, into practice. Throughout my apprenticeship I was guided by my supervisor and colleagues and from there I was able to broaden my network and found an area of law that I am interested to persue in the future. It was truly a great and one of a kind experience”
The registrations were opened on the 10th November 2023 – 25th November 2023 and is expected to last for a period from the 11th December 2023 – 7th January 2024.
